On this episode of the Chandler Chat, host Harriette Chandler invites Tuyet Tran, Executive Director of the Southeast Asian Coalition of Central Mass. (SEACMA), located on the fifth floor of the Printers Building at 50 Portland St. They discuss a new project that SEACMA has undertaken, the Mushroom Urban Farm Initiative, which aims to combat food insecurity through sustainable farming of mushrooms in a controlled indoor environment, right in downtown Worcester! They present some of the impressive and beautiful fungi that they're able to grow, and speak on their future plans to involve local schools, farmers markets and restaurants, as well as exploring the potential for these mushrooms to be used as a biodegradable material.
